Wuthering Heights
by Emily Brontë
Wuthering Heights was first published in 1847 under the name of Ellis Bell, the pseudonym used by Emily Brontë, who is perhaps the least well known and most enigmatic of the three famous novelist sisters. A classic tale of hauntings, passion and revenge, Wuthering Heights remains unsurpassed in its depiction of the dark side of love.
This beautiful little pocket edition was published complete and unabridged by Collector's Library in 2003. It includes "Biographical Notice of Ellis and Acton Bell" by Currer Bell (Charlotte Brontë), dated September 19, 1850, in which Charlotte pays tribute to her sisters, Emily and Anne.
This is a compact book, designed to be held and read with one hand (if that is what you would like to do). It is in very good condition both inside and out apart from a small scuff to the back cover pastedown, visible in one of the images - please check. The scuff was probably caused by the dust jacket sticking to the pastedown, but is also fully covered by the dust jacket - again, please see pics.
This is a hardback book with dust jacket as issued, original red cloth boards, gilded edges all around the text block and a red ribbon marker. It also has an interesting and informative afterword by David Pinching.
This is a beautiful little book and depite the scuff to the rear pastedown, would make a lovely gift. Dark romance at its finest!
