Ballet Shoes

Here is another great children's story from the Classic Adventures series of books. If you or any children you know are interested in a career on the stage, there couldn't be a better starting point than this story of three adopted sisters with aspirations. Chosen in 2019 by the BBC to be one of its 100 Novels that Shaped Our World, Ballet Shoes is an influential piece of work that has delighted several generations of young readers and continues to do so.
It was first published in 1936 with revisions to both the text and illustrations in 1959. A new edition was published in 1977 by Dent Children's Books, and this undated edition by Fabbrii is probably a facsimile of Dent published during the 1990s. It is in very good condition with no marks or annotations and an unused bookplate printed to the marbled flyleaf. There is a very minor bump to the bottom right corner of the front cover, allowing a trace of red cloth to be seen. This is visible in the last picture here.
Other available titles in the Classic Adventures series:
Pollyanna by Eleanor H. Porter
The Railway Children by E. Nesbit
